2014, You put me into a hectic life for which I have no control. Many abrupt changes
and the immediacy in which everything happened cannot be digested by
me. Embarking on university life, ragging, assignments and exams everything
like a flood rushed towards me.
There was a time when I
was small, I looked forward to the New year for new clothes, sweets, laughter
fun and joy. During my school days it was a thrill to arrange my new bag with
new books – neatly wrapped in beautiful sheets with stickers and my name on the
middle. It was Acca who wrote my name and the name of the subjects in each
book. Me and Thambi lined up before her with our bundles of books. Her handwriting
is very beautiful and we always preferred her writing on our books. It was
utter amazement and thrill to arrange our new bags, books, purse, food box and
drink bottle and sit in a corner and admire our all new belongings. Usually my
school begins late and I stay at home for an extra week while my sister and
brother sadly leave home. I relished the pleasure in teasing them.
Now as a grown up those
little pleasures are lacking and I deeply yearn for those days. The childish innocence and ignorance are gone
forever. An alarm strikes in my mind that another year is ahead with battles to
be fought, challenges to be accomplished and awaiting results to be reached.
2015, I welcome and
garland you most warmly! I strongly hope you will be kind enough to allow me
accomplish my goals. Looking forward to your birth with abundance of hope and
faith!!
